What is a Digital Ecologist?

A Digital Ecologist® utilizes principles from organic systems and digital networks to gain insights into how any community may evolve.

For example, the Digital Ecologist® may guide companies and non-profits on bringing together technological tools to achieve a business goal, generally in the area of marketing or advertising a brand. The theoretical schema is based on a set of accumulated observations of how individual ecologies function – their needs, criteria for survival, and pattern of expansion. This is overlaid on a grid of available and emerging technologies, addressing specifically how technical communities (e.g. a technically informed or assisted marketing or advertising audience) evolve, and results in a framework for interacting with those communities to advance business goals without interrupting, reversing, or interfering with ecological processes.
